JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:

Performs and manages audits and special projects. Conducts audits for management to assess effectiveness of controls, accuracy of financial records, and efficiency of operations by performing the following duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



Ensures reviews are cost effective and responsive to the current risk and control environment. Primary function is to assist audit management. Directly responsible for ensuring the work performed fully supports the project s objectives and conclusions.

Audit Work:

Properly executes audit fieldwork

Develops and maintains audit programs, questionnaires and permanent files

Plans the audit or project in a manner that ensures the achievement of objectives and deadlines

Ensures work covers all assigned steps, work papers are complete, and reports are accurate and properly convey issues

Evaluates the accuracy of financial information, internal controls, compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures

Prepares and submits audit findings and makes recommendations to management

Risk Assessments:

Responsible for the performance of risk assessments of assigned areas on an annual and ongoing basis

Formally updates risk assessments on a quarterly basis

Communication:

Keeps stakeholders informed of work in progress

Develops partnerships with clients by understanding their goals and deliverables, key business processes, technologies, risk management practices and areas of potential risk

Audit Administration/Reporting:

Follow-up and track outstanding issues in a timely manner

Assists in departmental reporting to constituents

Assists in the preparation of Audit Committee material

SECONDARY DUTIES

* Stays abreast of developments in assigned areas of responsibility and the auditing profession

* Serves in a consultative role when appropriate

* Performs special projects as assigned

* Maintains a positive, team oriented attitude

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory duties

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree and at least three years related experience and/or training in auditing financial institutions or other related work associated with banking or auditing/accounting

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing using the English language; Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference; Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products to include Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint and Outlook

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

No specific requirements are needed to satisfactorily perform this job but a professional designation such as a CPA, CIA, etc. is preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be willing to travel on occasions, as required

ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines

* Ability to operate related equipment to perform the essential job functions

* Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions

* Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions

* Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an undue hardship then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
