Millwright Job Description We are seeking an experienced
maintenance millwright with a strong knowledge in welding and
fabrication, particularly in ARC and MIG techniques. The ideal
candidate will possess proficiency in hydraulic and pneumatic
systems, as well as manual or laser alignment skills.
Responsibilities Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair machinery
related to the unloading, loading, transfer, and storage of cargo
including conveying equipment, pulleys, gearboxes, drag conveyors,
structures, hydraulics, ship loader, stacker reclaimer, and various
support equipment. Read and comprehend specifications, service and
parts literature, build prints, and follow engineering drawings.
Utilize precision measuring devices both metric and standard
including gauges, displays, micrometers, dial indicators, calipers,
alignment tools, levels, and torque tools. Communicate thoughts and
ideas effectively in both verbal and written forms. Demonstrate
mechanical aptitude in structures, leverage, metallurgy, fasteners,
rotating assemblies, gears, and material strength. Operate hand
tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, chain
hoists, presses, metal saws, cranes, and rigging equipment. Utilize
heavy equipment including Caterpillar, Volvo, Komatsu, and
Manitowoc. Respond to call-outs and work all shifts, including
overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed. Essential Skills
Advanced knowledge in millwright duties. Proficiency in welding and
fabrication techniques (ARC, MIG). Proficiency in hydraulic and
pneumatic principles and applications. Understanding and
application of lubricants and maintenance best practices. Ability
to perform machinery alignments both manual and laser. Proficiency
in reading and comprehending technical literature and engineering
drawings. Strong mechanical aptitude related to structures,
metallurgy, and material strength. Skill in using hand tools, air
tools, and precision measuring instruments. Additional Skills &
Qualifications Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician
(CMRT) strongly preferred. Knowledge of heavy equipment including
Caterpillar, Volvo, Komatsu, and Manitowoc. Friction crane
experience is a plus. Ability to work across all shifts and respond

indoor/outdoor pulley-conveyor environment within a shipping and
logistics coal terminal. The role requires the use of various tools
and heavy equipment, and a flexible schedule, including the ability
to work different shifts and respond to call-outs. Job Type &
Location This is a Permanent position based out of New Orleans, LA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $67600.00 -
$85350.00/yr. Will consider paying per diem while someone is in the
process of relocating. Prefers local candidates but needs skilled
labor with experience so can be creative on a few hires out of the
bunch. Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in New
