Shift) Job Description Join a dynamic machine shop that fabricates
parts for the oil and gas industry, specializing in bearings and
seals for rotating equipment. The role involves working primarily
on manual machining using a vertical mill and occasionally
operating a CNC machine with conversational controls.
Responsibilities Operate vertical mills to fabricate small to
medium-sized parts, ranging from 1" ID to 36" OD and up to 12" in
length. Handle materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel,
babbitt, and exotic metals. Create split parts with precision
tolerances of /- thousandths or less. Occasionally use a horizontal
lathe with a 4-6 jaw chuck. Read and interpret blueprints to ensure
accurate machining. Essential Skills 5 years of experience in
manual machining. Proficiency in vertical mill machining with
precision tolerances. Experience with CNC machining and blueprint
reading. Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, and other
machining tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience
machining on split parts and babbitt. Prior experience in a
competing bearing shop is advantageous. Extensive background in

professionals. Work Environment Work in a medium-sized, organized,
and air-conditioned shop maintained at 72°ree;F to prevent
material warping. The team is composed of CNC machinists, manual
machinists, QC staff, welders, assemblers, and general labor. The
shop operates with 27 employees on the day shift and 23 on the
afternoon shift. The dress code includes steel-toed shoes, jeans,
work shirts, and safety glasses. The 1st shift runs Monday through
Thursday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Friday from 6:00 am to Noon, and
optional half days on Saturdays, averaging 50 hours per week.
Future requirements may include mandatory Saturdays if demand
increases. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position
based out of Deer Park, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this
position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to
