This position requires sound judgement in all HR-related issues, and the ability to proactively improve HR functions and processes inline with the overall Company strategy.SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITIES:Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable federal, state and local laws.Responsibilitiesinclude interviewing, selecting, and hiring employees; training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; coaching, counseling, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; promoting, demoting, transferring, and terminating employees.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Builds relationships, credibility, and rapport to influence and support business priorities and positive cultural outcomes.Serves as a key change agent on new initiatives, programs, and processes to positvely impact the organizational culture.Assists the Vice President of Human Resources in developing policies and directing HR functions, including but not limited to staffing, employment, payroll, compensation and benefits, training, and employee relations.Oversees and administers all FMLA and other leaves of absences.Oversees and administers the Performance Management program.Oversees and administers Keesler Employee Education and Tuition Reimbursement programs.Oversees organizational professional development programs.Responsible for developing and communicating new human resource policies and procedures to all department heads, as applicable.Participates in annual budget development and administration for HR department.Develops, administers, and oversees various Management training programs.Assures all human resources policies, related activities and programs are in compliance with state and federal regulations where applicable.Maintains up-to-date knowledge of employment laws.Maintains up-to-date knowledge on all processes and procedures to support organizational strategic plans.Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.Maintains knowledge of instructional techniques and technologies by attending seminars and reviewing professional journals.Directly manages the onboarding process, ensuring effectiveness of efforts.Approves security requests to order systems privileges for new employees.Oversees uniforms for the credit union including decisions on uniform options and distribution to employees.Serves as escalation point for Talent Aquisition by reviewing and making decisions on hiring exceptions such as credit history, starting pay, and test scores.Coaches and counsels management and employees in the interpretation and application of policies and procedures to ensure effective employee relations.Reviews and approves employee wage rate changes as a result of hiring, promotions, transfers, and other pay changes.Approves invoices for payment as needed.Advises managers and supervisors on desired corrective and disciplinary actions, offering alternatives and objective solutions.Creates and/or runs various HR-related reports on a regular basis.Provides direct supervision, training and development of direct reports.Serves as a member of the senior management team.Serves as a member of various project teams from a Human Resources perspective.Uses Integrity Coaching skills to routinely and effectively coach staff to meet personal, departmental, and organizational goals, including documenting and tracking progress and results.Responsible for compliance with all Federal regulations including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)Other Duties andResponsibilities:Serves as backup for the Vice President of Human Resources.Assists with the coordination and set up of employee meetings, as needed.Assists withBenefitsOpen Enrollment as needed.Performs other duties as may be assigned.KNOWLEDGE & SKILLSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education:Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field).Experience and OtherRequirements:At least five years of human resource management experience required.At least five years Employee Relation Management experience with demonstrated progressive managerial experience required.Prior training experience.Exceptional interpersonal skills required, with the ability to interact with all levels of employees, managers, vendors, members, volunteers, and the public.Must possess exceptional organizational and oral and written communication skills, with the ability to develop memorandums, reports, presentations, policies and procedures, handbooks, and training materials.Must possess well developed skills in training, interviewing, counseling, and assistance of employees and potential employees in accordance with all current existing laws.Must possess superior analytical, communication, interpersonal, and management skills.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, regulatory agencies, and the general public.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common credit union industry events, professional journals, governmental regulations, and financial reports.Confidentiality and dependability required.Travel may be required.Computer Skills:Ability to operate a PC with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams.Must be proficient using e-mail and the internet.Prior experience with HRIS system highly desirable.Interpersonal Skills:A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating, influencing or training others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:Human Resources Certification preferred.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
