Regional Resource Development Director, Area Commander & Divisional
Development Director, the Area Command Resource Development
Director is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and
soliciting major gifts from current and new donors. The role
involves moving mid-level donors to the major gift level to meet
annual goals. The position collaborates with the Area Commander,
Area Development Director, and Divisional CRD team to develop
comprehensive development plans covering research, cultivation,
solicitation, and stewardship of donors, supporting strategic
efforts including capital/endowment campaigns.Essential
FunctionsThis description highlights the core responsibilities and
requirements. Incumbents may perform additional related duties as
needed.Gift Cultivation and Solicitation (80%)
- Collaborate with team members to plan and evaluate a major
gifts program and fundraising strategies, including special
events.
- Cultivate, solicit, and manage a portfolio of major gift donors
and prospects, utilizing moves management.
- Participate in donor visits with staff and volunteers, ensuring
positive relations.
- Prepare solicitation materials for various prospects.
- Use systems and software to track and manage donor information
and activities.
- Maintain timely contact and solicitation reports using specific
metrics.
- Work with staff to identify and assign prospects for
cultivation and solicitation.
- Share information with colleagues to enhance fundraising
efforts.
- Participate in capital campaigns as needed.
- Develop annual sponsorship packages.Stewardship and
Identification (15%)
- Partner with staff to encourage and enhance donor engagement
and recognition.
- Participate in donor recognition events and acknowledgment
efforts.
- Review fundraising publications to identify new prospects.
- Handle special stewardship projects and develop relationships
through public speaking and community engagement.Administrative
(5%)
- Attend relevant meetings and participate in departmental
operations as a team member.
- Perform administrative tasks to support department
functions.Other ResponsibilitiesPerform other related work as
required.Materials and EquipmentComputer, database, internet,
social media, and office equipment.Knowledge, Skills, and
AbilitiesProficiency in fundraising principles, donor relations,
and gifts administration. Excellent communication, public speaking,
and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop and manage donor
relationships, meet deadlines, and work independently. Proficiency
in Microsoft Office and database management. Valid driver's license
required.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field
and five years of experience in major gift fundraising, or an
equivalent combination of education and experience.Physical and
Working ConditionsPrimarily seated work, with some physical effort.
Off-site work in various venues, with potential exposure to weather
and environmental discomforts. Must adhere to the religious mission
