Responsibilities

Gulfport Behavioral Health System (a UHS facility): Gulfport Behavioral Health System, is a 90-bed psychiatric hospital offering child, adolescent, adult and military service behavioral health programs and treatment services. For more information, please visit us at www.gulfportbehavioral.com/Position Summary: The Program Therapist plans, provides, coordinates, documents, and evaluates direct and indirect social services to patients in accordance with established methods and procedures of the hospital. These services include but are not limited to the following: individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, case management, treatment planning, rounding with clinical staff, attending/conducting unit and hospital meeting, discharge/care planning and follow-up, resource development/assistance, and serving as a member on various committees. The Program Therapist further contributes to Social Services and the unit on which he/she works through support of philosophy and objectives, educational efforts and Quality Management efforts.
Qualifications

Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field. Experience: Preferably a minimum of two (2) years' experience and in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; must have strong clinical assessment skills. License: LCSW, LMSW or LPC license to practice in the State of Mississippi preferred. Additional Requirements: CPR certification and CPI certification (management of aggressive behavior training) within 90 days of employment prior to assisting in a restraining procedure.
