job oversees patient care outcomes through the assimilation and
application of research-based information to design, implement and
evaluate patient plans of care. Acts as a provider and manager of
care at the point of care to individuals and cohorts of patients
within a unit. Designs, implements, and evaluates nursing
interventions by coordinating, delegating and supervising the care
provided by the healthcare team, including licensed nurses, patient
care technicians and other health professionals and facilitates
effective and efficient discharge planning.To perform this job

- -Associate's degree in nursing.Work ExperienceRequired - -2 years
of nursing experience.Preferred - Supervisory
experience.CertificationsRequired - Current registered nurse (RN)
license in state of practice.Basic Life Support (BLS) from the
American Heart Association.Knowledge Skills and Abilities
(KSAs)
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based
applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability
to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels
of individuals throughout the patient care process.
- Strong conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to move throughout the department, the hospital, and
between off-campus sites.Job Duties
- Promotes the utilization of nursing protocols/practice
guidelines based on existing evidence and supports the conduct of
nursing research in accordance with guidelines.
- Organizes, plans, directs, provides and coordinates patient
care within the unit.
- Manages conflict appropriately on shift assigned and reports
issues to the unit leadership if further action/follow up is
needed.
- Acts as facilitator by meeting the needs of staff while
aligning self with the strategic direction set by the unit
leadership.
- Assists leadership team in identifying
cost-containment/reduction strategies.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including
but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to
the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be
performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
