Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty License: Compact or Louisiana nursing license required upon submission Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Epic experience required Must be comfortable with being assigned to an "Emergency Team" as per unit manager directives Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a cardiovascular intensive care unit. This position is for a high acuity heart failure unit focusing on critical cardiology care. Nurses will manage patients with conditions such as cardiogenic shock, decompensated heart failure, and ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Specialty procedures may include pericardial drains, targeted temperature management, and pacemaker placement. Experience with advanced equipment such as PA catheters, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and Impella devices is essential. The unit operates with a patient ratio of 1:2. There is a requirement to float to other intensive care units and step-down units as needed. Nurses should have experience caring for ventilated patients and managing ventilators effectively. Please ensure you are prepared for potential emergencies as directed by your unit manager. Candidates should be open to occasional additional shifts. All applicants must be aware that local travelers are not accepted, and residency requirements will apply.
