Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Molecular Biology Laboratory Technologist/Scientist (MT/MLS/MB) for work at the Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS. This is NOT an enlistment position. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelors Degree 2. Graduate from a Medical technology program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or educational program acceptable to the American Medical Technologist (AMT). 3. Must possess 12 months experience working as a laboratory technologist in a medical clinical laboratory within the past 36 months. Experience within the molecular section of a clinical laboratory is highly desirable. 4. Current MT or LMS certification/registration as determined by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologist (AMT). 5. Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Security Clearance: National Background Investigation Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Must have reliable transportation to and from work site Job Duties, including but not limited to: Perform clinical laboratory testing for nucleic acid-based diseases. Routinely performs testing on blood, cells, cell cultures, and various tissue samples Must maintain sample tracking and integrity meticulously to prevent cross-contamination of samples Demonstrates high-level laboratory problem solving skills and analytical abilities to successfully perform assigned laboratory testing.
