This position will act as the Single Point of Contact ("SPOC") throughout the loss mitigation process in accordance with all state and federal regulations.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNone.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSTake inbound and make outbound calls to assigned portfolio of mortgage loan borrowers that are delinquent in their loan payments and who are investigating loss mitigation options or are in foreclosure.Evaluates member information and loan files to determine payment options.Answers member inquiries concerning delinquent Mortgages and Home EquitiesAnswer member questions concerning their accounts and document the contact on the mortgage servicing system.Recognizes and takes the necessary action required to prepare an account for foreclosure, as directed by Management.Understand investor's waterfall and required documents for loss mitigation.Collects member financial information and assists borrowers in reviewing loss mitigation documents.Making determinations as to the strength of the mortgagor's ability and wherewithal to repay the loan communicating credit risk decisions to the partnering individuals within the company, correspondents, or borrowersUnderstands and utilizes all methods, techniques and resources available for loan workout and/or loss mitigation, ensuring adherence to internal, investor and MI policy and procedures.Works constructively with the delinquent member to ultimately cure the delinquent accounts.Remains up to date on changes to investor delinquency guidelines.Completes necessary research on any outstanding items, checks for accuracy, completeness and compliance in accordance with the investor guidelines and internal policies.Submits delinquency reports to each Investor and governing entity on a monthly basis.Images/scans/indexes documents.Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.Complies with all Banking Regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering requirements, Privacy of Customer Information Policy, and all consumerprotection laws, regulations, and Bank policies as related to assigned job duties.Oversees adherence to all laws and regulations pertaining to mortgage lending.Works MSP delinquent loan queue in a timely manner.Analyzes accounts to determine the best collection action.Accepts payments on delinquent accounts as requested by member.Ability to communicate effectively and professionally over the phone.Responsible for compliance with all Federal regulations including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).Utilizes The Member Advantage AIDINC system to identify potential member (internal or external) service needs which can be met through the sale of credit union products and services, or adherence to the department's policy and procedures.Performs reviews of mortgage loan files ensuring accuracy of information and verify presence of all required documents including credit, title, appraisals, credit documents, property valuation, loan-to-value ratios, debt carried and analysis of hardship.Handle accounts with speed and accuracy while maintaining a level of integrityOther Duties and Responsibilities:Performs other duties as assigned by managementKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education:A high school education or GED.Secondary education preferred.Experience and Other Requirements: 2 - 4 years Mortgage and/or Consumer Loan Collections ExperienceExperience with Mortgage Servicing software (MSP).Loan Servicing knowledge (Investor, Escrow, Payoff, Cashiering, ARM)Knowledge of CHFA/FHA Loss Mitigation requirements.Ability to handle multiple tasks with prioritization.Must possess a working knowledge of collection laws,strategies and techniques.Must be familiar with fraud techniques and possess the ability to recognize and report same.Must possess an outgoing personality with a helpful attitude and a well-developed telephone service technique aimed at exceptional member service.Accuracy and attention to detail required.Must maintain confidentiality and dependability at all times.Must possess the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.Must possess exceptional communication skills, verbal and written.Excellent record keeping and documentation skillsPerforms a variety of financial and regulatory tasks to collect delinquent Residential and Consumer loans ensuring compliance with the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act as well as all state and federal lending regulations.Interpersonal Skills:Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.
