If so, join us as we support early childhood education programs across the country to create positive outcomes for the children and families served.We are looking for an inspired and dedicated individual to join our Mississippi team as a Wellness Counselor.Job Summary:The Wellness Counselor position is responsible for the daily oversight and monitoring to ensure that MSU-Extension Head Start and Early Head Start staff remain on track to create a safe and trauma-informed learning environment. The Wellness Counselor will also provide training and counseling for children, parents and staff around trauma informed care.Essential Duties and ; Responsibilities:

  • Wellness Counselor provides information to staff about ways to promote wellness with student, parents, and families. Work with the Head Start program team to develop and conduct wellness activities, events, and presentations for clients and staff to strengthen resilience of the Head Start program and community Meets and coordinate guest speakers who specialize in different areas of resilience Meet with HS staff members to assesses staff wellness needs Develops appropriate strategies to support staff wellness and communicate the needs to leadership team or appropriate entity Assists with the development of budget, policies, and procedures for the enhancement of wellness of the Head Start Community Complete timely reports of all observations and relevant meetings Secure grants for staff around wellness initiatives Provide brief therapy for families in the program and appropriate referrals as needed Assist Family Advocates in conducting wellness checks as needed Maintain real time documentation in data system of staff and family interactions, as required by programRequirements:
    • Must be a licensed State clinical provider, with expertise in trauma informed care - acceptable degrees include licensed counselor, clinical social worker or clinical psychologist Experience working with children and families in ethnically diverse low-income communities Physical exam and background checks are required for this position Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and functions Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportationWhy Acelero Learning or Shine Early Learning?
