GROUNDSKEEPER

Gorman & Company is looking for a part time Groundskeeper to work approximately 20 hours per week at one of our residential properties in Gulfport, MS. Groundskeeping is one of the most important jobs for maintaining community housing properties in a safe, attractive, and comfortable condition for our residents. We are looking for an experienced part time groundskeeper who is committed to providing first class groundskeeping / landscape services as part of a collaborative maintenance team.

A day in the life of a Groundskeeper:


Work with our maintenance team to perform grounds maintenance such as lawn services, maintaining shrubs and gardens, spraying insecticides and clean-up.
Outdoor building maintenance - painting, light bulbs, install and/or maintain fences.
Assist outside contractors and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Assist in supplies inventory control and upkeep of all ground's equipment.
Complete corrective maintenance by completing service requests.
Assist with unit preparation to include painting, cleaning, repairing and/or replacing appliances, plumbing, and/or electrical fixtures.
Emergency maintenance/On-Call when needed.



What do I need to qualify to be a Groundskeeper?


Previous groundskeeping and landscaping experience required.
Excellent mechanical aptitude with ability to operate lawn equipment.
Must be able to read work orders / service requests.
Good safety habits.
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
Ability to work outdoors.
