Learn more about this agency Responsibilities The position performs a wide variety of very complex assignments with a high degree of independence from supervisions. The work performed requires a technical knowledge on complex NAS systems, emerging technology, and legacy systems, in the Terminal GNAS environment. Knowledge of terminal automation (STARS, STARS ELITE) terminal RADAR (ASR 11), computer/networked base towers, displays systems and other legacy terminal NAS systems. Provides the highest organizational level of technical support associated with analyzing, designing, developing, installing, repairing, maintaining, modifying and evaluating the most complex systems for which the FAA is responsible; collaborates with system users and 2nd level software support personnel on modifications and upgrades, while minimizing system interruptions, the safe and efficient operation of the NAS and acts as the SSC's automation software SME. Travel Required 25% or less - The job may require up to 25% travel. Qualifications To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level of FV-H/Level III, or the equivalent FG/GS-12 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience may include, but is not limited to: work performed requiring a technical knowledge on complex NAS systems, emerging technology, and legacy systems, in the Terminal GNAS environment. Knowledge of terminal automation (STARS, STARS ELITE) terminal RADAR (ASR 11) computer/networked base towers displays systems and other legacy terminal NAS systems; experience that demonstrated an extensive knowledge of and experience in the technology, system interrelationships, and management of civilian or military automated aviation, navigation, and electronics systems.Generally, experience at the next lower level of Pay Band H/level III or equivalent, meets the minimum qualifications for this position - as long as the experience supports the Demonstrated Abilities identified in this announcement.
